ROLES OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS OFFICE
The Corporate Affairs Office at SUC acts as a catalyst in developing relationship
with the corporate in order to facilitate the graduating students find placement
for building their career by bringing corporate closer to academics. The Corporate
Affairs office also keeps abreast with the changing trends in employment market
and business requirements and provides inputs while developing Strategic Plan and
designing new programs.
- PLACEMENT
Placement rate of graduates is an essential tool to measure an educational institution's
effectiveness. The SSD is in charge of complete coordination of the placement at
SUC. The functions of corporate affairs office with regards to placement are as
follows:
- Identifying employment opportunities for our SUC students in the national, regional
and international market.
- Maintaining and updating the database of potential employers.
- Coordinating with employers to complete their need analysis form and accordingly
send them appropriate student CVs.
- Organizing campus interviews.
- Coordinating with employers to secure internship positions for senior level students.
- Maintaining a data of placement activities in the form of monthly and yearly reports.
- TECHNICAL VISITS & GUEST LECTURES
The Corporate Affairs Office coordinates with the faculty to help students undertake
technical visits & practical tours of industries related to their major areas such
as retailing, banking, manufacturing, airports, tourism development projects & arranging
seminars & guest lectures at the SUC campus etc. for students. This provides exposure
to the students to comprehend the best practices of the industry.
- OTHER ACTIVITIES
- To build rapport with the corporate professionals
- To develop databases of corporate professionals from various functional fields
- To survey and identify the skills and competencies required for jobs relevant to
our major areas
- To disseminate the information to Dean and the Executive Council about the changing
skills and competency requirement in the Corporate world so as to incorporate in
the curriculum
- To suggest the PSDP committee to conduct programs oriented at making students employable
- To identify industry experts so as to engage them for guest lectures, panel discussions
and assist in Program reviews
- To facilitate an opportunity for Corporate and faculty to engage in meaningful research
activities
- To explore possibilities of employing SUC students and alumni in corporate at different
levels
